We, at AROUND LISBON are all born and raised in this beautiful city, and proud for being “Alfacinhas” (little lettuces) as Lisboners are known as.
We know we are extremely fortunate to have grown up and to live in such a wonderful city, and we are eager to share all its wonders and secrets with you.
Let us show you our city´s unique light, white cobble stone pavements and the shimmer on the river Tagus from the constant presence of Lisbon´s warm sun. Throughout the seasons this white light brings everything alive, revealing the beautiful and narrow streets of this labyrinth city.
Let us show you Lisbon through our eyes. The “Alfacinhas” rarely miss the chance of marveling at the beauty of its city from one of the many suspended gardens and belvederes. Built upon hills, seven to be precise, Lisbon has many belvederes (miradouros) where you can always look over the city from a different perspective; some are well known destinations for Lisbon visitors, whilst others are more hidden.
Meandering through the city, you can catch glimpses of the water, often with boats entering or leaving the harbour. From the many “miradouros”, the city stretches before you and the sea seems endless beyond. Lisbon and the sea are forever linked. It is also bonded with the city’s music – the Fado.
